I just finished Patti Smith's memoir entitled "Just Kids". The memoir allows for an intimate and honest look at both Smith and her lover/friend/muse, Robert Mapplethorpe and their lives as emerging artists. Their relationship and the mutual passion to create is inspirational. Getting a peek into the NY underground in the late 60's into the 70's is equally as fascinating. The book recently won the national book award. check it its well worth.
